Dennis Keith Sewell, 61, of Spring, Texas, passed away after a short but fierce battle with cancer.
Dennis’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, celebrating 38 years of marriage with his wife and high school sweetheart, Janna Glidden Sewell. They built a wonderful life together, raising two children, Judy Connor (husband Aaron) and Nicholas Sewell. Nothing made Dennis happier than his two grandchildren, Andrew and Molly Connor, who truly were the light of his life.
Born on April 10, 1964, in Oklahoma City, Dennis was the son of Denny St. Clair and Judy Wilson and was later adopted by Oscar Sewell. He was also dearly loved by his stepmother, Marcene St. Clair, and stepfather, Ron Wilson. He is survived by his loving mother Judy Wilson, his mother-in-law, Judy Glidden, his siblings Ron Beets (wife Sharon), Elise Hoffman (husband Tony), Kristi St. Clair, Dave Wilson, Laura Bauman (husband Bob), Heather Prichard (husband Ken), brother-in-law John Glidden (wife Sabrina), sister-in-law Missy Allen, brother-in-law Jerry Glidden as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Dennis was a 1982 graduate of Klein Forest High School. He then proudly served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. His service extended beyond the military into his community, where he was a volunteer firefighter with the Klein Fire Department and found lifelong brotherhood at Station 37.
Dennis was an entrepreneur at heart, but also a lifelong student of his craft. He completed training through the National Auctioneers Association, earning the Auctioneer Real Estate and Certified Estate Specialist designations, and studied at the Certified Auctioneers Institute, the Professional Ringmen’s Institute, and the Texas Auction Academy. He graduated from the Champions School of Real Estate and led a team of realtors with BHGRE Gary Greene. His extensive background in logistics and his drive to continually learn positioned him as both a leader and mentor in multiple industries.
Together with his family, Dennis built and operated StillGoode Home Consignments, which grew into StillGoode Auctions, StillGoode Realty Team, and StillGoode Home Staging. What began as a single family venture became the largest consignment store in the state of Texas—award-winning, nationally recognized, and modeled after by stores across the country. Under his leadership and vision, StillGoode became a trusted brand in the community and across the resale, auction, and real estate industries, and the businesses continue to expand at a rapid pace.
Dennis also gave back to the industries he loved. He served on the board of directors and was the former president of the National Association of Resale and Thrift Shops (NARTS) and was an active member of the Texas Auctioneers Association. He was always eager to share knowledge and help others succeed.
Outside of work, Dennis loved classic cars and could often be found at local car shows, showcasing his beloved 1948 Thames and 1957 Townsman Station Wagon.
He will be remembered as a generous teacher, mentor, and visionary. He dreamed big, lived big, and loved big—leaving a lasting mark on his family, his friends, and the resale, auction, and real estate industries he cared for so deeply.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Denny St. Clair; adopted father Oscar Sewell; stepfather Ron Wilson; sister Teresa Vaughn; and father-in-law Jack Glidden.
